Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Proficiency in languages such as Python or Kotlin.
- Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
- Proven success delivering major features or complex system components.
- Expertise in creating technical execution plans and deprecating legacy functionality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and iterate on complex system architecture.
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and align it with business-impacting projects.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to manage technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs.
- Act as a force-multiplier by defining and advocating for technical solutions and operational processes.
- Own team operations, including monitoring, triage, playbooks, testing, and on-call efforts.
- Foster a culture of quality by setting code review and design standards.
- Develop talent on the team by providing guidance, feedback, and leading by example.
