Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 2+ years leading engineers or engineering teams.
- Recent hands-on technical involvement (1–2 years) in coding, code reviews, or architecture.
- Strong experience with native Android development using Kotlin.
- Experience with AOSP, customized Android ROMs, and rooted or kiosk-mode device management.
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience with React-based front-end development.
- Experience building software for connected, remotely deployed physical device fleets.
- Experience with backend technologies such as Kotlin/JVM, Node.js, or serverless architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude).
- Experience managing blended teams of full-time and contract engineers.
Responsibilities
- Own engineering outcomes across device product areas including field operations, patient engagement, and back-office systems.
- Manage a team of Engineering Leads and individual contributors, overseeing hiring, performance, and professional growth.
- Remain hands-on with code, performing reviews and directly contributing to production implementations.
- Champion AI-assisted engineering practices across team development and product capabilities.
- Coordinate priorities and dependencies across multiple concurrent product workstreams.
- Contribute to cross-organizational architecture reviews and governance.
- Manage blended teams of full-time and contract engineers, including onshore and offshore personnel.
- Partner with Product and Design leads to ensure successful execution.
