- Post Graduate Studies (Master’s degree) plus seven (7) years of experience working in emergency relief and humanitarian assistance, and infectious disease outbreaks. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience must be obtained overseas.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in emergency relief, humanitarian assistance, and infectious disease outbreaks.
- Minimum 3 years of overseas experience in the relevant field.
- Recent technical experience with an international NGO, public international organization, or USG agency.
- Fluency in critical concepts of emergency and humanitarian health interventions.
- Understanding of health issues related to displaced, refugee, and vulnerable populations.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret strategy and monitor/evaluate program implementation.
- Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and environments.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must hold an Active Secret Clearance.
- Ability to deploy for international travel assignments for at least one month.
- Fluency in French and experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Advise the Response Lead on humanitarian response modalities for Ebola outbreak activities and identify critical response gaps.
- Liaise directly with technical and pillar leads at post and in Washington, DC.
- Engage with national health clusters and sub-clusters to understand humanitarian gaps and response plans.
- Evaluate and document health programming gaps and assess the performance of existing DHR awards.
- Provide technical review of proposals submitted by NGO and UN partners for humanitarian health programs.
- Coordinate with humanitarian partners to integrate health and Ebola response actions.
- Serve on DARTs and Washington-based Response Management Teams (RMTs) as needed.
- Support technical and strategic thinking for health interventions and develop sector strategies and guidance.
