Requirements

  • Master’s degree (Post Graduate Studies).
  • 7 years of experience in emergency relief, humanitarian assistance, and infectious disease outbreaks.
  • 3 years of relevant overseas experience.
  • Recent experience working in a technical capacity for an NGO, public international organization, or USG agency.
  • Fluency in critical concepts of emergency/humanitarian health interventions.
  • Understanding of health issues related to displaced populations and refugees.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret strategy, analyze, develop, and present work results.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in responding to changing work priorities.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Advise the Response Lead on appropriate strategies on humanitarian response modalities for Ebola.
  • Liaise directly with technical lead and pillar leads of the response.
  • Engage with national health clusters and sub-clusters.
  • Evaluate and document health programming gaps and assess performance of current awards.
  • Coordinate with humanitarian partners to understand response gaps.
  • Serve as a USG humanitarian health sector resource person and assist in strategy development.
  • Provide technical review of proposals submitted by NGO and UN partners.
  • Provide technical support to State’s humanitarian nutrition and WASH teams.
  • Serve on DARTs and Washington-based Response Management Teams (RMTs) as needed.
