Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing.
- Current Ohio Certified Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Active D.E.A. licensure.
- 1 to 3 years of clinical work experience.
- Understanding of chemical dependency and substance use disorder treatment.
- Ability to comply with state board, federal, and accrediting agency regulations.
Responsibilities
- Document patients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes.
- Evaluate patient behavior to formulate diagnoses and assess the efficacy of treatments.
- Write prescriptions for psychotropic medications within state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Monitor patient progress, medication usage, and responses to therapeutic interventions.
- Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and collaborate with physicians, clinics, and hospitals.
- Conduct professional development activities and training on topics related to substance use disorders.
- Perform physical examinations and order diagnostic procedures as delegated by the supervising physician.
