Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in fast-moving environments.
- Solid command of U.S. GAAP, journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated experience in hands-on month-end close leadership and financial-statement preparation.
- Proven experience with payroll governance, 401(k) administration, and multi-state payroll matters.
- Experience managing recurring tax compliance, including sales, use, and income tax.
- Ability to lead and review the work of external accounting and tax partners.
- Proficiency in mapping processes and implementing automation to improve workflow efficiency.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document practical procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with SaaS, subscriptions, inventory, COGS, and ASC 606 is a plus.
- Familiarity with systems like NetSuite, Bill.com, FloQast, Rippling, or Shopify is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day operating rhythm of Accounting, including the monthly close and financial reporting.
- Lead payroll governance, including variance analysis, internal approval, and 401(k) plan administration.
- Manage recurring tax compliance, including sales and use tax, income tax coordination, and R&D credit reporting.
- Strengthen cash, treasury, and payment controls with improved dual-control coverage.
- Redesign and automate manual processes to shorten the close cycle and reduce rework.
- Manage and improve the performance of external accounting, tax, and payroll partners.
