Job Details

8+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or database engineering.
Deep hands-on production experience running PostgreSQL (RDS) at scale.
Strong experience operating Kafka (MSK or self-managed) in production, including topic management and CDC/event-streaming pipelines.
Strong SQL fluency for diagnosing query performance and reviewing schema changes.
Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform).
Experience owning production database reliability across multiple downstream teams simultaneously.
Strong cross-team communication and partnership skills.
Experience with GitOps-managed Kubernetes operators (Strimzi) is a plus.
MongoDB or DynamoDB operational experience is a plus.
Experience with pgbouncer and connection pooling is a plus.
Prior work on platform cost optimization is a plus.
Exposure to regulated or high-availability environments (gaming, fintech) is a plus.

Own database liaison responsibility for a portfolio of production PostgreSQL/RDS instances—query review, schema change approval, performance tuning, and incident triage.
Operate and evolve the Kafka/MSK streaming platform, including topic lifecycle management via GitOps and CDC pipeline reliability.
Build and maintain self-service tooling for product teams to provision database and streaming resources.
Drive platform stability projects such as version upgrades, root-cause fixes, and capacity/cost optimization.
Act as the technical escalation point for cross-team incidents related to shared data infrastructure.
Represent Platform Storage in cross-org infrastructure initiatives.
Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations.
