Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 4+ years in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., FDE, Solutions Engineer, or technical founder).
- Expert production coding skills in Go, Python, or TypeScript.
- Deep, hands-on Docker expertise (Dockerfiles, Compose, networking, security).
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs and agents in production (tool use, function calling, MCP).
- Knowledge of software supply chain security (SBOMs, signing, vulnerability management).
- Experience integrating with enterprise systems (Okta, OIDC, SAML, Kubernetes, major clouds).
- Strong technical leadership and ability to influence through field evidence.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with engineers and executive stakeholders.
- Proven track record of technical mentorship.
- Ability to travel to customer sites up to 50%.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Embed with customer engineering teams to design, build, and ship solutions from prototype through production rollout.
- Deliver technical artifacts including custom MCP servers, containerized agents, and Docker Compose definitions.
- Integrate Docker's AI platform with customer stacks, including identity providers, secrets management, and Kubernetes.
- Translate customer security and compliance requirements into concrete technical plans.
- Partner with Solutions Architects and the field to support proofs of concept and technical escalations.
- Deliver actionable, data-driven feedback from customers back to Docker Product and Engineering teams.
- Define engagement models and delivery standards while mentoring other Forward Deployed Engineers.
