At least 8 years of experience in mid-revenue cycle operations, coding, Health Information Management (HIM), healthcare technology, or a related area, including 2+ years of leadership experience within a large integrated healthcare system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in mid-revenue cycle operations, coding, HIM, or healthcare technology.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience within a large integrated healthcare system.
  • Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (dual certification preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of professional and facility coding, and HIM operational guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of national/local coverage decisions and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting data to identify trends and operational patterns.
  • Strong understanding of EHR systems and revenue cycle technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
  • Ability to work within a matrixed organization and build consensus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily operations within the assigned professional billing coding denials and integrity function.
  • Evaluate workflows and operational processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and consistency.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, coding guidelines, and organizational policies.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze operational trends.
  • Leverage healthcare technology, EHR systems, and analytics tools to improve operational performance.
  • Partner with clinical, IT, Compliance, Finance, and Revenue Cycle leaders to align processes.
  • Lead and develop a team of professionals including hiring, coaching, and training.
  • Lead strategic operational initiatives and manage project timelines for workflow enhancements.
