Requirements
- 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience building production software.
- Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Production-grade experience with Python and Node.js/NestJS.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining REST APIs and backend microservices.
- Strong SQL fundamentals, including schema design, complex queries, and production troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of distributed systems, including asynchronous processing and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
- Experience with caching technologies such as Redis.
- Proficiency with cloud providers (e.g., Azure), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of secure coding fundamentals including authentication, authorization, and secrets handling.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience monitoring production systems, investigating performance, and responding to failures.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production backend services using Python and Node.js/NestJS.
- Design, build, and maintain REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
- Work with PostgreSQL in production, including schema design, complex queries, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Build and support asynchronous workflows using message queues and distributed system patterns.
- Take features through the full software development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Containerize and deploy services using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor production systems using observability tools to ensure reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and Product teams to scale the platform.
