Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient production code.
- Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, or deep backend expertise with a willingness to ramp up quickly.
- Experience working with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
- Proven experience building and consuming APIs and integrations across service boundaries.
- Fluency and a quality-conscious approach to using AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with workflow-automation platforms such as Tines, n8n, or similar.
- Solid debugging, optimization, and SDLC process experience.
- Ability to ramp onto unfamiliar codebases and exercise judgment on when to consult system owners.
- Strong communication skills to translate between business needs and technical reality.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship internal tooling to eliminate repetitive manual work such as file processing and migrations.
- Contribute to root-cause investigations and suggest systemic fixes to prevent future issues.
- Extend existing team templates, standards, and automation platforms rather than creating one-off customizations.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate solution delivery.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders on architectural designs and moderate-complexity features.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to triage and resolve issues, supporting internal teams and members.
