Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, technology, or life sciences discipline; MBA or master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial data strategy, operations, or analytics.
  • Experience building commercial data capabilities for at least one U.S. specialty pharmaceutical or biotech launch.
  • Proven Director-level experience with cross-functional leadership, vendor management, and senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Hands-on experience defining requirements for CRM, data warehousing, BI, and MDM platforms.
  • Expertise in pharmaceutical commercial data sources such as prescription, claims, specialty pharmacy, and HCP/HCO reference data.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical data compliance including HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, and aggregate spend reporting.
  • Technical fluency to engage with engineering teams on data models and cloud integration patterns.
  • Working SQL proficiency preferred.
  • Proven ability to build scalable processes in lean, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate strategic trade-offs and business implications.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the commercial data strategy aligned with brand objectives and launch-readiness milestones.
  • Develop a phased data capability roadmap covering acquisition, warehouse design, integrations, and advanced analytics.
  • Manage day-to-day data operations across external partners, including specialty pharmacies, distributors, and data aggregators.
  • Implement commercial master data management, including HCP/HCO alignment, stewardship, and CRM integration.
  • Establish data governance, privacy standards, and quality processes for audit-ready, compliant operations.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and executive-ready narratives for performance management.
  • Manage the commercial data budget, vendor relationships, and technology build-versus-buy assessments.
  • Scale from an individual contributor role to leading a dedicated data and analytics team as the organization grows.
