Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of tenure at Wealthsimple, currently at a L3 role or higher, with at least a Meets Expectations rating.
- 4+ years of direct, hands-on experience in backend fraud investigations.
- Proven track record of mentoring, coaching, or leading peers.
- Deep understanding of fraud typologies and financial ledgers.
- Ability to analyze complex data including IPs, device IDs, and transaction metadata.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to act on incomplete information.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of a pod of Fraud Investigators by conducting 1:1s and coaching.
- Oversee complex fraud queues and ensure team maintains case-closure Service Level Agreements.
- Investigate high-priority cases involving bank indemnity, crypto traces, and identity rings.
- Lead weekly calibration sessions to identify and document emerging fraud typologies.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Product teams to develop automated fraud defenses.
- Establish investigative playbooks and ensure all decisions align with regulatory requirements.
