Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or data architecture roles.
- 3+ years of direct people management experience leading technical teams.
- Expert-level SQL proficiency and working knowledge of Python.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks) at enterprise scale.
- Experience operating in a regulated or compliance-sensitive environment (healthcare, financial services, etc.).
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK).
- Understanding of ETL/ELT pipeline design and modern data patterns (e.g., Apache Iceberg, streaming, lakehouse).
- Ability to manage both engineering and QA disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical decisions into business value.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 10 data engineers and QA professionals.
- Define and execute the enterprise data platform architectural vision and modernization roadmap.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of production ETL pipelines on Snowflake and AWS.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards for pipeline development, infrastructure-as-code, and testing.
- Partner cross-functionally with Data Governance, BI, and Product Engineering to ensure platform reliability and data quality.
- Manage operational metrics, SLAs, and capacity planning to maintain 99%+ ETL success rates.
