Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in product design.
- 3+ years of experience managing and developing product designers.
- Proven experience managing principal or staff-level individual contributors.
- Strong product and design judgment with experience simplifying complex B2B software.
- Demonstrated experience building or evolving a design system that achieved team-wide adoption.
- Strong point of view on AI and its impact on the future of product design.
- Fluent in using AI within the design practice.
- Exceptional written communication skills to articulate design strategy and feedback.
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with Engineering and Product leadership.
- Technical fluency to effectively collaborate with engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a small team of experienced product designers through critique, design reviews, and mentorship.
- Define and scale design principles, standards, and guardrails to ensure consistency across the product.
- Lead the product design system (HSDS) strategy, resourcing, and adoption across engineering and product teams.
- Drive the company's point of view on trustworthy AI experiences and ensure consistent application across all product design.
- Develop and refine the design operating model, including workflows, tooling, and AI-assisted delivery practices.
- Collaborate with the Experience Leadership Team to influence roadmap direction and allocate design capacity effectively.
