Requirements
- Strong foundation in data engineering science, computer science, distributed systems, and system design.
- Minimum 3 years in a data-oriented leadership or management role.
- At least 5 years of experience in software or data development.
- Experience leading teams of 3 or more engineers.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Docker.
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) and related services.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Airflow, dbt, or AWS Lambdas.
- Knowledge of systems design, data architecture, and governance.
- Proficiency with Atlassian and other agile project management tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in a regulated industry is strongly encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day team activities, including goal setting, mentorship, AI-assisted SDLC, and performance management.
- Communicate professionally with state and provincial regulators and set clear expectations.
- Operate high-responsibility workstreams with strict deadlines and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with analytics, finance, compliance, and engineering to build data pipelines and tooling.
- Prioritize and manage cross-functional data projects from inception to delivery.
- Design and maintain data pipelines while contributing to architecture enhancements.
- Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability goals are met.
