Requirements
- 2+ years of dedicated behavioral health medical billing and revenue cycle experience.
- Direct, hands-on experience with Medicare Part B billing and the ability to work claims independently.
- Current HIPAA certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of full-cycle billing: claims management, payment posting, denials, and collections.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Working proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting purposes.
- Exceptional phone etiquette and professional customer service skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as the sole billing owner.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full billing lifecycle including charge entry, check-in, claim creation, submission, and payment posting.
- Review claims for accuracy and resolve denials, rejections, or underpayments.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Handle patient collections, process payments, and reconcile account discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary contact for patient billing inquiries and provide compassionate customer service.
- Prepare and present revenue cycle reports for weekly leadership meetings.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer guidelines, and medical necessity documentation standards.
