Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- 2-4 years of hands-on HR generalist experience, ideally at a small or high-growth company
- Working knowledge of HR compliance and employment law fundamentals
- Experience in implementing and building HR automations and systems
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms
- Ability to research and apply new employment law requirements
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
- Strong judgment and ability to handle highly sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day administration of the employee lifecycle — onboarding, offboarding, employee file management, and benefits administration
- Partner with hiring managers on role-specific onboarding setup and manage the compliance side of bringing on new hires
- Research federal, state, and local employment law requirements and help draft and refine policy and procedure changes
- Prepare and maintain HR documents, including offer letters, employment contracts, and onboarding materials
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions, providing guidance on HR policies and resolving day-to-day issues
- Partner with People Operations Associates and HR Administrators to share knowledge on policies and processes
- Support employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, recognition programs, team-building events, and offsites
- Identify opportunities to streamline and document HR processes using AI tools to reduce manual work
