Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing and building production-grade data pipelines and systems.
- Deep hands-on experience with Dagster (or similar experience with Airflow/Prefect).
- Proven track record building and operating data pipelines at scale.
- Strong system design skills, specifically regarding boundaries, contracts, and failure modes.
- Practical experience designing service-oriented architectures.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Pub/Sub and event-driven patterns.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, ML, and product teams.
- Experience working in remote-first and globally distributed teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve the orchestration layer, including asset graphs, quality checks, and partitioning strategies.
- Design and maintain production data pipelines for large-scale geospatial and temporal data.
- Lead system design work across the data platform, focusing on service boundaries and data contracts.
- Drive the shift toward a service-oriented architecture to decouple components.
- Build event-driven workflows and durable messaging patterns.
- Establish observability, testing, and data quality frameworks.
- Mentor engineers and define standards for building, testing, and operating data systems.
