Requirements
- Have 7+ years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role.
- Have at least several years of experience in health tech.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in SQL and Python.
- Have hands-on experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Have experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
- Have experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure; AWS is preferred.
- Understand data security principles and healthcare data compliance requirements.
- Have experience with AI software development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Be able to work with complex, messy data and transform it into actionable insights.
- DBT experience, healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7, and secure data transfer tools such as SFTPGo are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data models for analytics and product needs.
- Develop data integration workflows between internal systems and external data sources.
- Optimize and scale cloud-hosted databases and data infrastructure for complex healthcare datasets.
- Ensure data security and compliance with healthcare standards such as HIPAA and HITRUST.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and clinical teams to define and implement data requirements.
- Create documentation and implement monitoring solutions for data reliability and transparency.
