Requirements
- Extensive experience managing US multi-state payroll and tax requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of payroll compliance including SUTA, FUTA, FICA, and year-end reporting.
- Proficiency with payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now and Kronos/UKG.
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, Macros).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification highly valued.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience (coaching, mentoring, delegation).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Willingness to work 10:00 PM–7:00 AM PHST.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor junior payroll professionals.
- Oversee the complete payroll lifecycle across 15+ US states as the final escalation point.
- Manage multi-state tax withholding, filings, reconciliations, SUTA, FUTA, FICA, and local tax obligations.
- Serve as the payroll systems subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now and Kronos/UKG.
- Lead registration/maintenance of state tax IDs and oversee federal and state compliance.
- Manage tax notices, garnishments, audits, and year-end W-2/W-3 reconciliations.
- Prepare executive reporting on payroll trends and 401(k) activities.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve payroll workflows.
