Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing US multi-state payroll and tax requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll compliance including SUTA, FUTA, FICA, and year-end reporting.
  • Proficiency with payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now and Kronos/UKG.
  • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, Macros).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification highly valued.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience (coaching, mentoring, delegation).
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Willingness to work 10:00 PM–7:00 AM PHST.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor junior payroll professionals.
  • Oversee the complete payroll lifecycle across 15+ US states as the final escalation point.
  • Manage multi-state tax withholding, filings, reconciliations, SUTA, FUTA, FICA, and local tax obligations.
  • Serve as the payroll systems subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now and Kronos/UKG.
  • Lead registration/maintenance of state tax IDs and oversee federal and state compliance.
  • Manage tax notices, garnishments, audits, and year-end W-2/W-3 reconciliations.
  • Prepare executive reporting on payroll trends and 401(k) activities.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve payroll workflows.
