Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- 5-6 years of Australian bookkeeping experience supporting Australian businesses.
- Australian bookkeeping or accounting qualifications or certification.
- Advanced MYOB EXO experience with the ability to operate independently.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and large datasets).
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting practices (GST, BAS, PAYG, payroll, superannuation, and STP).
- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Experience with inventory, purchasing, and supplier management.
- Experience preparing budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and management reports.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work autonomously across multiple companies and meet Australian deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Maintain daily bookkeeping and general ledgers, including transaction coding, journals, and inter-company entries.
- Complete daily reconciliations for bank, credit card, and loan accounts.
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Process fortnightly Australian payroll, including PAYG, superannuation, and STP reporting.
- Prepare GST reconciliations, BAS workpapers, and provide records for tax agent review.
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile Shopify sales, payments, and fees.
- Prepare monthly/annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and management reports with variance analysis.
