Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial recent hands-on coding experience.
- Hands-on PHP development experience.
- Significant experience developing, extending, or integrating learning management systems, including APIs, SSO, and learning content standards.
- Strong knowledge of identity and access technologies such as OIDC or SAML.
- Proven experience with automated testing, version control, CI/CD, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience working within Scrum, Agile, or similar iterative development methodologies.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, including AI coding assistants or LLM-based automation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Moodle is highly valued.
- Experience with Drupal or another PHP-based CMS is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, test, and deploy production-quality software while serving as a senior technical contributor within the engineering team.
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, technical guidance, engineering standards, and architectural decision-making.
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations with learning management systems, including APIs, SSO, learning content standards, and associated data flows.
- Build platform features, state-specific configurations, and reusable capabilities within a shared multi-tenant, multi-client environment.
- Establish and promote strong engineering practices covering version control, branching, releases, automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, performance, security, and accessibility.
- Facilitate Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools to coding, testing, reviews, documentation, and automation workflows.
