Requirements
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a Staff engineer role.
- Proven track record of designing fault-tolerant systems operating at billions of hits or events.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous job processing.
- Experience building systems where correctness is non-negotiable (e.g., metering, ledgers, billing, payments).
- Working grasp of idempotency, exactly-once semantics, and reconciliation.
- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL data models, specifically complex transactional data.
- Experience designing policy- or rules-driven systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring, SLOs, and root-cause analysis in production environments.
- Familiarity with hallucination mitigation strategies for AI tools.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical health of Phone Billing, including accuracy, reconciliation, scalability, and observability.
- Drive high-impact initiatives from problem definition through architecture, implementation, and measurement.
- Architect for massive scale, owning high-level scaling decisions for core Phone platform components and provider adapters.
- Ensure billing integrity for usage metering, rating, and audit trails with zero tolerance for errors.
- Lead the evolution of the revenue platform into a configuration-driven, rules-based system.
- Work hands-on with technologies like NestJS, Firestore, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Drive high-concurrency innovation to improve reliability, latency, and throughput.
- Develop Engineering Managers and senior engineers while building a leadership pipeline.
- Participate in design reviews, deep dives, and on-call rotations.
