Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of professional platform engineering experience incorporating DevOps and SRE principles.
- Hands-on experience writing and reviewing code regularly.
- Prior experience owning technical direction or people management.
- Experience with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), kops, HashiCorp Vault, Grafana, GitHub Actions, Postgres, Kafka/MSK, or Redis/Valkey.
- Understanding of modern microservice-based architectures.
- A track record of making pragmatic technical trade-offs under delivery pressure.
- Experience with or openness to evolving agile/Scrum-based team processes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong aptitude for or experience with AI-assisted development tooling.
Responsibilities
- Contribute directly to inbound SRE and platform work, including incident response, infrastructure automation, and tooling.
- Own technical debt and infrastructure modernization within the team's scope.
- Maintain deep technical understanding of all team projects to provide active guidance and architectural oversight.
- Manage people leadership responsibilities, including career development, performance management, hiring, and team health for 3–4 SREs.
- Guide technical direction through system design, architectural consult, and hands-on code review.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to evolve team processes and development workflows.
