Requirements

  • 16 years of total experience in the North American power or clean energy sectors.
  • At least 8 years of direct transaction experience in an outward-facing origination or commercial role.
  • Proven history of originating, negotiating, and closing complex energy transactions with Munis, Cooperatives, or IOUs.
  • Deep working knowledge of Public Power procurement, G&T structures, board governance, and RTO/ISO market rules.
  • Established active network ('rolodex') of utility, co-op, and municipal decision-makers.
  • Strong understanding of power economics, capacity markets, spark spreads, tax credits, and project finance.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for client meetings and conferences.
  • Excellent executive presence and ability to build rapport with senior utility leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Existing network across regional wholesale markets (e.g., PJM, ISO-NE, NYISO, MISO, ERCOT, SPP, SERC, or WECC) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sourcing, structuring, negotiation, and closure of high-value commercial arrangements including equipment sales, service agreements, and project partnerships.
  • Mobilize existing network of utility executives, procurement leads, and board members to originate new pipeline opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and customer sites to build long-term trust.
  • Position linear generator solutions to address utility demand drivers like interconnection delays and load growth.
  • Lead complex negotiations for term sheets, MOUs, and equipment purchase agreements in collaboration with internal legal and finance teams.
  • Navigate utility procurement processes, including competitive solicitations and integrated resource planning.
  • Influence product strategy by providing market intelligence and customer feedback to internal leadership teams.
