Requirements
- 5+ years of experience performing complex, efficient querying within cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery).
- Strong proficiency in data transformation and quality engineering workflows using dbt and Airflow.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile practices, CI/CD, and version control using Github.
- Strong knowledge of data organization, data modeling, and schema design principles.
- Proven track record of writing efficient queries and optimizing cloud compute costs.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly using visualizations (Tableau, Google DataStudio, PowerBI) and documentation (Jira, Confluence, Lucid).
- Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants within IDEs or agentic CLIs.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction and collaborative decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Automate data transformation pipelines using SQL, dbt, CI/CD, Github, and Google Cloud.
- Create intuitive data products and visualizations using tools like Tableau to support partner decision-making.
- Construct automated data validation checks and unit tests to ensure reliability and quality.
- Recommend and adopt data governance best practices to maintain data integrity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with data analysts and engineers, including participating in code reviews and cross-training.
- Serve in an on-call rotation to maintain system health and respond to automated monitoring alerts.
- Build domain expertise in life insurance to anticipate and meet partner requirements.
