Requirements
- Active Illinois law license, or the ability to become an active Illinois attorney.
- At least 7 years of experience in digital content publishing, knowledge management, legal content technology, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of experience supervising staff, volunteers, or contractors.
- Experience working in or with legal aid, access-to-justice, or public-interest legal services.
- Demonstrated experience developing content workflows, managing content management systems, and implementing content governance.
- Ability to distill complex legal and technical concepts into clear, actionable resources.
- Experience using Google Analytics or similar tools to evaluate content performance.
- Working knowledge of structured content, metadata, taxonomies, or information architecture.
- Proven ability to lead complex initiatives involving cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong computer and software skills, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Experience helping teams adopt new tools, processes, or working methods.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute legal content strategy aligned with organizational priorities and user needs.
- Establish and maintain content governance, workflows, and decision-making processes.
- Ensure legal resources meet standards for accuracy, readability, accessibility, and cultural responsiveness.
- Manage, coach, and evaluate a team of five content professionals.
- Allocate team resources and manage content production capacity and budgets.
- Drive continuous improvement by monitoring legal developments and content performance.
- Advance SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO) practices.
- Partner with product, technical, and legal aid teams to integrate content into service-delivery systems.
- Participate in user research and usability testing to inform content and information architecture.
- Represent the organization externally in statewide access-to-justice initiatives.
