Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive payroll experience with significant leadership in global payroll operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing U.S. and international payroll across multiple countries and providers.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll tax, statutory obligations, wage and hour laws, benefits, and equity.
- Hands-on experience with bonuses, commissions, equity compensation, and off-cycle payments.
- Experience with payroll platforms like ADP and leading system implementations or migrations.
- Proven track record in designing and improving payroll controls, reconciliations, and audit processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances and identify root causes.
- Ability to collaborate across Finance, Accounting, People, Legal, IT, and Total Rewards teams.
- CPP certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end global payroll operating model, including calendars, SOPs, processing, funding, and issue resolution.
- Lead U.S. and international payroll operations across multiple countries, entities, and pay frequencies.
- Manage third-party payroll providers, EOR partners, and local payroll specialists to ensure compliance and service quality.
- Establish and maintain payroll controls, review procedures, and audit-ready documentation for all payroll-related data.
- Partner with People Operations and Total Rewards to ensure employee lifecycle events are accurately reflected in payroll.
- Work with Accounting on payroll reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities.
- Collaborate with Stock Administration to ensure accurate processing and reporting of equity transactions.
- Lead payroll audits, year-end processes, W-2s, and statutory reporting.
- Evaluate and improve payroll systems and HRIS integrations to increase operational visibility and reduce manual effort.
- Define and monitor payroll performance metrics and provide workforce-cost reporting to leadership.
