Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive payroll experience with significant leadership in global payroll operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing U.S. and international payroll across multiple countries and providers.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll tax, statutory obligations, wage and hour laws, benefits, and equity.
  • Hands-on experience with bonuses, commissions, equity compensation, and off-cycle payments.
  • Experience with payroll platforms like ADP and leading system implementations or migrations.
  • Proven track record in designing and improving payroll controls, reconciliations, and audit processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances and identify root causes.
  • Ability to collaborate across Finance, Accounting, People, Legal, IT, and Total Rewards teams.
  • CPP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end global payroll operating model, including calendars, SOPs, processing, funding, and issue resolution.
  • Lead U.S. and international payroll operations across multiple countries, entities, and pay frequencies.
  • Manage third-party payroll providers, EOR partners, and local payroll specialists to ensure compliance and service quality.
  • Establish and maintain payroll controls, review procedures, and audit-ready documentation for all payroll-related data.
  • Partner with People Operations and Total Rewards to ensure employee lifecycle events are accurately reflected in payroll.
  • Work with Accounting on payroll reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities.
  • Collaborate with Stock Administration to ensure accurate processing and reporting of equity transactions.
  • Lead payroll audits, year-end processes, W-2s, and statutory reporting.
  • Evaluate and improve payroll systems and HRIS integrations to increase operational visibility and reduce manual effort.
  • Define and monitor payroll performance metrics and provide workforce-cost reporting to leadership.
