Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • 5+ years of experience across accounting, finance operations, consulting, or systems implementation.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting operations, and modern finance technology stacks.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Campfire, Brex, Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, Rillet, or Puzzle.
  • Proven ability to translate AI and automation capabilities into practical, business-focused workflow applications.
  • Experience leading technology, systems, workflow automation, or AI-enabled implementations.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and automation platforms.
  • Strong quality-control, data-validation, documentation, and process-design capabilities.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 2–3 weeks per year for company events and attend in-person onboarding training within the first three months.

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting engagements for a focused client portfolio, including monthly financial statements, budget-versus-actual analysis, forecasting, financial modeling, cash management, and accounting operations.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, including invoicing, collections, contract review, payment processing, and policy compliance.
  • Support payroll, employee onboarding and offboarding, tax compliance, accounting policies, and other core finance processes.
  • Serve as the primary owner for AI implementation and workflow automation initiatives, from identifying opportunities through deployment, adoption, and optimization.
  • Lead cross-functional discovery sessions to identify operational pain points, prioritize AI use cases, define project scope, and establish measurable outcomes.
  • Design AI-powered knowledge systems, including searchable internal resources, structured prompt libraries, templates, and workflow tools.
  • Establish quality assurance, validation, governance, security, confidentiality, and compliance standards for AI-generated outputs.
  • Establish performance metrics and reporting for AI initiatives to track efficiency, ROI, and business impact.
