Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or at least five years of progressively responsible fundraising experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing a major-gift portfolio and stewarding significant donors.
  • Proven ability to close high five-figure gifts and experience with low six-figure gifts.
  • Strong understanding of the donor lifecycle, moves management, and portfolio strategy.
  • Advanced experience using Salesforce or a comparable fundraising CRM.
  • Strong oral, written, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience developing donor communications, proposals, and grant applications.
  • Experience using AI thoughtfully for research, communications, and analysis.
  • Willingness to travel domestically, including occasional evening or weekend commitments.
  • Experience in international development or global health is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of current, prospective, and lapsed donors, beginning at the $5,000 giving level, across the complete donor lifecycle.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, renew, upgrade, and steward supporters using personalized strategies and disciplined moves management.
  • Conduct donor meetings, make direct gift requests, and secure high five-figure and low six-figure commitments.
  • Develop compelling pitches, proposals, reports, grant applications, and stewardship materials tailored to individual donor interests.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, opportunities, and forecasts in Salesforce or a comparable fundraising CRM.
  • Partner with philanthropy leadership to identify and qualify emerging major-gift prospects.
  • Represent the organization in donor meetings and cultivation events while maintaining professional standards.
