Requirements
- Strong, current hands-on software engineering experience.
- Prior experience owning both technical direction and people management.
- Clear readiness to manage people and technical strategy simultaneously.
- Ability to operate independently without a separate Tech Lead.
- Experience with or strong aptitude for AI-assisted development tooling and workflows.
- Proven track record of making pragmatic technical trade-offs under delivery pressure.
- Experience with or openness to evolving agile/Scrum-based team processes.
Responsibilities
- Own professional development, career growth, and performance management for direct reports.
- Lead team culture, technical direction, and execution strategy.
- Remain hands-on in the codebase, contributing to features, bug fixes, and technical debt management.
- Serve as the primary technical representative for the student-facing team.
- Collaborate with Product Management to evolve team processes for faster delivery.
- Model effective AI-assisted development practices for the team.
- Monitor and maintain team health and performance.
