Requirements
- 12+ years of professional experience designing software.
- Portfolio demonstrating high-quality, shipped design work.
- Experience designing technically complex products for technical audiences (e.g., developer tools, infrastructure, data, security, or APIs).
- Proven track record of identifying high-leverage problems and designing end-to-end solutions independently.
- Strong visual design and craft skills.
- Ability to operate independently to transform ambiguous problems into a cohesive product vision.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to build alignment with engineering counterparts.
Responsibilities
- Assess Apollo's product surfaces end to end to identify high-leverage design opportunities.
- Lead the modernization of core developer experiences into coherent user journeys.
- Partner with engineering as a peer to define, advocate for, and build product features.
- Set and document design and craft standards that are adopted across the team.
- Contribute reusable patterns to the design system to accelerate development velocity.
- Determine when usability testing is necessary and execute testing as required.
- Link design initiatives to business metrics such as developer activation and support cost reduction.
