Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in business development, consultative sales, relationship management, professional services, or a closely related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with small and midsize businesses is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to develop referral-based partnerships with CPAs, bankers, attorneys, consultants, fractional CFOs, or other professional advisors.
- Experience or familiarity with accounting, finance, business operations, banking, consulting, or professional services is advantageous.
- Strong relationship-building, networking, consultative selling, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable developing business independently, managing a regional pipeline, and taking ownership of market growth objectives.
- Ability to understand business challenges and communicate the value of financial and operational solutions clearly.
- Comfortable using CRM platforms, LinkedIn, Google Workspace, and other digital business development tools.
- Self-motivated, proactive, organized, and capable of working effectively in a fully remote environment with a high degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Develop and grow an assigned regional market through networking, relationship-building, consultative business development, and strategic partnership activities.
- Serve as the local face of the organization, building trusted relationships with business owners and key professionals within the regional business community.
- Identify, develop, and maintain referral partnerships with CPAs, commercial lenders, attorneys, consultants, fractional CFOs, and other trusted advisors.
- Engage with small and midsize businesses to understand their financial and operational challenges and connect them with appropriate accounting, bookkeeping, and business support resources.
- Build and manage a regional pipeline and book of business, consistently identifying opportunities for new client acquisition and long-term revenue growth.
- Conduct consultative conversations focused on understanding business needs, demonstrating value, and developing mutually beneficial solutions.
- Strengthen relationships with existing clients, referral partners, and business community stakeholders to encourage retention, referrals, and regional growth.
- Collaborate with centralized Client Delivery teams to ensure successful transitions and maintain strong relationships.
- Represent the organization at networking events, professional associations, and business gatherings.
- Use CRM systems, LinkedIn, and Google Workspace to manage relationships and support an organized sales process.
