Requirements
- 4+ years managing engineers, including senior ICs and machine-learning engineers.
- 5+ years as a software or ML engineer building production systems at scale.
- Hands-on ownership of search, ranking, recommendation, or personalization systems.
- Experience with retrieval, learning-to-rank, feature pipelines, and online experimentation.
- Experience in a marketplace or multi-stakeholder product where competing incentives were reconciled.
- Ability to distinguish between data and model problems in machine learning systems.
- Demonstrated ability to own conversion or relevance metrics end-to-end.
- Strong technical judgment regarding reliability, instrumentation, and production ownership.
- Experience working in domains with sensitive data and clinical stakes.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of eight senior software and machine-learning engineers.
- Drive the transition from filter-based matching to intelligent, learning-to-rank systems.
- Resolve competing objectives across the marketplace for patients, providers, and payers.
- Develop outcome-aware ranking systems using patient-reported outcomes and behavioral signals.
- Build evaluation, monitoring, and drift detection to enable rapid, reliable iteration.
- Hire, coach, and maintain a high engineering bar for the team.
- Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional engineering teams to integrate ranking features into the patient journey.
