Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or another relevant engineering discipline; degrees in Finance or Economics may also be considered.
- 15 or more years of professional experience within the power and energy industry.
- Broad technical knowledge across multiple power generation technologies, including renewable and conventional generation.
- Management consulting or advisory experience gained within a consulting firm, advisory practice, engineering organization, or energy company.
- Direct client engagement and ownership of analytical deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience working with electric or gas utilities, independent power producers, project developers, grid operators, or energy investors.
- Proven experience leading teams of engineers, consultants, or other multidisciplinary professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience with quantitative models, large datasets, financial analysis, and economic evaluations.
- Expertise in creating clear, structured, and executive-ready Excel models, PowerPoint presentations, and written reports.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of initiative, accountability, and independent judgment with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic consulting engagements involving market, technology, policy, utility planning, renewable generation, grid modernization, and energy infrastructure assessments.
- Direct project economic and cost analyses, risk assessments, contracting strategies, and other quantitative evaluations supporting client investment and operational decisions.
- Manage technical due diligence and owner’s engineering reviews for power and energy projects, including the review of technical reports, studies, and engineering deliverables.
- Provide program and project management support, helping clients strengthen governance, business processes, controls, stakeholder alignment, and execution strategies.
- Prepare and present implementation strategies, project plans, recommendations, and findings to executives, project teams, and other stakeholders.
- Lead individual workstreams within larger engagements while coordinating timelines, scope, resources, budgets, and deliverables.
- Guide junior consultants and engineers by providing technical direction, managing workloads and hours, and ensuring delivery against project expectations.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal development, client relationship management, and opportunity identification.
