Requirements
- 5–10+ years of engineering experience, including time as a senior engineer or tech lead.
- 1–5+ years of direct people management experience.
- Strong full-stack technical depth with experience shipping non-trivial systems.
- Proven track record of building and scaling engineering processes.
- Experience sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding engineering talent.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, design, and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity and make decisions with incomplete information.
- Familiarity with terminal/CLI clients, TUI frameworks, and SSH is a plus.
- Experience at an early-stage startup (Seed–Series B) is a plus.
- Background in developer tools or infrastructure tooling is a plus.
- Experience with AI/LLM-powered product surfaces is a plus.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, Python, and AWS is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 6–8 engineers across the SSH client, web application, and backend services.
- Manage 1:1s, performance, mentorship, career growth, and day-to-day delivery.
- Own technical architecture across the stack, including frontend, terminal/SSH client patterns, and backend services.
- Drive engineering process, including planning, sprint cadence, code reviews, and incident response.
- Partner with Product on roadmap and tech debt prioritization.
- Review architecture, unblock engineers, and contribute code approximately 20% of the time.
- Hire, interview, and onboard new engineers.
- Communicate technical risks and tradeoffs to stakeholders across the organization.
