Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a comparable field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in commercial design and development.
- Significant retail development experience.
- Proven experience leading, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.
- Strong project management, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general project management software.
- Experience with commercial construction and design management.
- Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
- Licensed Architect or Engineer certification is preferred.
- Convenience store or petroleum industry experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Revit is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily design and development for new store construction, remodels, and facility upgrades from planning through permitting.
- Develop and maintain critical-path strategies ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Manage project prioritization and coordinate with real estate stakeholders for timely execution.
- Collaborate on equipment and design prototyping, including food service, lighting, and petroleum systems.
- Develop and review design documentation covering civil, structural, MEP, and interior/exterior elevations.
- Manage third-party consultants and internal resources to ensure project accountability and cost control.
- Apply value-engineering and safety principles to maximize long-term return on investment.
