Requirements
- Firsthand experience organizing AI safety university groups or running programs that support them.
- Deep context in the AI safety field and ecosystem.
- Strong judgment in evaluating people, organizers, and potential initiatives.
- Ambitious, high-agency mindset with a focus on scaling quality and impact.
- Ability to build a vision and execute autonomously on complex, open-ended problems.
- Strong mission alignment with reducing risks from advanced AI.
Responsibilities
- Set the strategy for how Kairos supports university groups, deciding where to invest time and resources.
- Launch new initiatives such as regional organizer programs, residencies, and support for top universities.
- Own the funding and support strategy for AI safety groups and organizers.
- Represent Kairos externally to organizers, universities, funders, and ecosystem partners.
- Build and lead the groups team, including defining roles, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing management.
- Contribute to org-wide strategy and cross-cutting program development.
