Requirements

  • Strong systems-thinking approach to software quality, with experience engineering maintainable and reliable testing systems rather than creating isolated test scripts.
  • Broad understanding of testing methodologies across functional, integration, contract, performance/load, chaos/resilience, and security layers.
  • Strong programming ability and the confidence to read and write production-quality code across different languages and frameworks; experience with C#, Java, Python, or similar object-oriented languages is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing performance or load tests, analyzing results, building dashboards, and monitoring performance trends.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering or testing tools to improve personal productivity and automate team workflows.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including the ability to investigate unfamiliar systems, interpret logs, use observability tools, and identify root causes of complex failures.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD environments such as GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
  • Solid SQL and data-querying skills, preferably with PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server, for validating backend state and debugging data-related issues.
  • Familiarity with API and contract testing, including testing integrations across service boundaries and with third-party APIs.
  • Strong Git and version-control practices, with a commitment to clean, reusable, maintainable test code.
  • Highly collaborative and responsive working style, with the ability to take ownership of quality issues and proactively support engineering teams.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build end-to-end quality systems, including scalable test frameworks, tooling, automation, and processes that enable confident software delivery.
  • Establish and evolve a layered quality strategy covering unit, integration, end-to-end, load and performance, security, contract, and chaos testing.
  • Act as a hands-on quality partner within engineering squads by participating in planning, standups, code reviews, technical discussions, and cross-team initiatives.
  • Drive performance and load testing by designing meaningful test scenarios, executing tests, building monitoring dashboards, and establishing ongoing performance measurement practices.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to create rapid and reliable feedback loops from code commit through production deployment.
  • Monitor test results and failures, investigate root causes, track defects, and partner with engineering teams to resolve complex quality issues.
  • Promote contract and chaos testing practices to uncover integration risks, systemic weaknesses, and resilience gaps before they affect users.
  • Apply AI-powered tools to improve engineering workflows, automate repetitive quality activities, and increase effectiveness across the broader team.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve testing tools, methodologies, reporting practices, and quality processes as the product and engineering organization scale.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers on test planning to improve coverage and ensure testing reflects realistic user scenarios.
