Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience on a software development team.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript preferred; proficiency in any functional or general-purpose language considered.
- Experience designing, implementing, and running automated tests with Playwright or similar modern browser automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing tools and workflows.
- Strong knowledge of API testing including REST/GraphQL, request/response validation, and auth flows.
- Experience investigating and determining the root cause of automated test failures.
- Experience documenting and completing manual tests, release criteria, and test plans.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
- Ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies and languages.
Responsibilities
- Dedicate ~80% of time to test automation and enabling team-wide quality practices using an automation-first, AI-assisted approach.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to validate feature requirements and acceptance criteria early in the lifecycle.
- Write automated functional, contract, and integration tests in TypeScript and Playwright across UI and API layers.
- Contribute to test framework design, optimization, and the implementation of quality gating within CI/CD pipelines.
- Leverage AI tools for test generation, failure triage, and coverage-gap analysis to improve efficiency.
- Conduct manual and exploratory testing to verify features, cover edge cases, and perform root-cause analysis on test failures.
- Define and maintain release criteria and coverage expectations across multiple engineering squads.
