Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience.
- 2+ years focused on data platforms and backend infrastructure for data-centric applications.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, specifically PostgreSQL, with experience tuning queries and schema design.
- Hands-on experience with data streaming and event processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or Kinesis).
- Proficiency in Python or Julia.
- Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments (Kubernetes).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Helm.
- Experience with GraphQL and TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js).
- Ability to work effectively in asynchronous and remote-friendly environments.
- Self-directed approach with experience working in remote teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and scale backend systems including PostgreSQL data models, Kafka-driven event pipelines, and GraphQL APIs.
- Lead the design and integration of new services for data and event processing.
- Own pipelines delivering dataset snapshots to the warehouse.
- Collaborate with platform and application teams to implement APIs for clinical study workflows.
- Translate requirements from product, scientific, and clinical stakeholders into scalable integrations and services.
- Draft RFCs to lead technical design and feature discovery phases.
- Maintain high standards for data integrity, completeness, and system reliability.
