Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, strategy, business operations, or a comparable role.
  • Proven experience in legal services, professional services, or high-growth startup environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead ambiguous, high-stakes initiatives from problem diagnosis to implementation.
  • Strong project management expertise with a track record of managing multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Experience developing and maintaining operational reporting frameworks (e.g., SLAs, productivity, error rates).
  • Experience partnering with product and technical teams to define requirements and manage execution.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and master complex subject areas like court filing requirements.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, including experience creating materials for leadership and boards.
  • Experience coaching and partnering with people managers to drive performance and accountability.
  • Demonstrated success scaling teams, processes, or markets in a growing organization.
  • High level of autonomy, ownership, and adaptability to evolving organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership on strategic priorities, operational planning, and high-impact business decisions.
  • Own cross-functional projects spanning operations, go-to-market initiatives, and process design.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and lead initiatives from diagnosis through solution design and implementation.
  • Scale business operations, processes, and service lines across new jurisdictions and client markets.
  • Manage delivery team performance, service levels, and quality standards through process optimization and coaching.
  • Develop operational reporting frameworks for executive and board audiences using KPIs like SLA performance and productivity.
  • Collaborate with product and technical teams to translate operational requirements into technical implementations.
  • Define and document workflows, SOPs, and playbooks for jurisdictional requirements like California court filings.
  • Manage the department hiring strategy, including recruiting, onboarding, and ramp planning.
  • Lead multiple concurrent, unrelated projects while maintaining momentum and accountability.
