Requirements
- Expert in Mainframe JCL.
- Expert in Mainframe Job scheduler, specifically Control-M.
- Expert in Mainframe CICS, especially familiarity with CA Ideal.
- Strong experience with PowerShell scripting and automation in Azure.
- Expert understanding of mainframe batch job concepts (JCL, GDG, PDS).
- Experience with C#/.NET and SQL Server.
- Experience with Azure Storage.
- Understanding of thread safety, locking mechanisms, and concurrency in scripting.
- Experience with migration projects, specifically mainframe to cloud.
- Ability to interpret and convert JCL scripts to PowerShell.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Experience with operationalizing batch jobs.
Responsibilities
- Analyze Control-M and/or Atomic schedules on the mainframe.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and investigation of mainframe JCL jobs, including spool and SMF.
- Analyze CICS environments for loaded programs and configurations.
- Work with ISPF, GDG, PDS, and MFT for migration investigation.
- Support the conversion of mainframe batch jobs to PowerShell scripts for Azure.
- Help configure and automate nightly, weekly, and monthly batch jobs in Azure.
- Optimize batch job performance focusing on concurrency, multi-threading, and thread safety.
- Discover and document business requirements for batch jobs and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell modules, including code signing and security practices.
- Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and troubleshooting sessions with cross-functional teams.
