Requirements
- Qualified accountant certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- 2+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally in financial reporting or controlling.
- Strong technical understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
- Experience within a retail banking environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a great eye for detail.
- Understanding of key financial controls and regulatory landscapes.
- Ability to translate complex financial information for diverse stakeholders.
- Interest in utilizing data and automation tools; SQL knowledge is a bonus.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Embed software capitalisation processes by collaborating with engineering and business teams to build automated solutions.
- Serve as product owner for financial reporting of software capitalisation and perform impairment assessments.
- Utilize IFRS technical knowledge to support and challenge the business on accounting judgments.
- Manage month-end close processes and group consolidation with the Finance team.
- Produce insightful management commentary and maintain integrity of the chart of accounts.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual reporting elements.
- Collaborate with external auditors and the Financial Reporting squad for year-end processes.
- Assess accounting impacts for new products and maintain accounting policy standards.
