Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience working on IBM zSeries/mainframe platforms.
  • Direct experience with installation and maintenance of CICS TS and related OEM products.
  • Thorough knowledge of CICS TS capabilities, configuration, installation, tailoring, and operational concepts.
  • Strong experience with IBM SMP/E for software installation and maintenance.
  • Experience with tools and products used to monitor and manage CICS TS region performance.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of assignments, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for communicating with customers, project managers, and technical teams.
  • Willingness to work an 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule, on-call rotations, overtime, and scheduled weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) and related OEM software products across enterprise z/OS environments.
  • Fulfill customer service requests and resolve reported technical issues in a timely manner while maintaining high service standards.
  • Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and enhance CICS TS and applicable vendor software in accordance with established procedures and best practices.
  • Support 24/7/365 operations, including on-call coverage, scheduled weekends, and overtime when required.
  • Assist with customer migrations and transitions by identifying and resolving technical challenges without disrupting project timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers and functional teams to prepare customer environments for operating system upgrades and planned changes.
  • Execute tasks associated with customer disaster recovery plans in coordination with disaster recovery teams.
  • Implement vendor fixes, product corrections, and new functionality in accordance with IT service management and change-control procedures.
  • Contribute to proactive maintenance and optimization activities that improve the stability, performance, and scalability of customer mainframe environments.
