Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in facilitation, conference planning, science communication, project management, or network management.
  • Strong skills in synthesizing themes from social, natural, and physical science disciplines.
  • Proven facilitation skills with the ability to adapt strategies to fit diverse groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex, multi-day event logistics including travel, AV, and catering.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while maintaining team coordination.
  • Proficiency with Mac OSX, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs/Sheets/Forms, and Zoom.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, LinkedIn, MailChimp, Canva, and Teams, or willingness to learn.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and facilitate standing calls with expert co-chair leadership teams to manage planning timelines and milestones.
  • Develop interactive workshop agendas and diverse participant rosters in partnership with co-chairs.
  • Provide week-of facilitation for workshop sessions, panels, interactive activities, and working groups.
  • Manage comprehensive event logistics including venue, travel, catering, AV, accessibility, and registration.
  • Support workshop fundraising through the development of collateral and grant proposals.
  • Synthesize post-workshop takeaways for grant reporting and strategic communications.
  • Manage and activate an expert network to extend the impact of workshop engagements.
  • Produce communications regarding workshop insights via LinkedIn and MailChimp.
