Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in the food industry, with CPG experience preferred.
- BS degree in Food Science or a related science field.
- PCQI and/or HACCP certification.
- Prior leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of product processing and plant production environments.
- Expertise in Food Safety, regulatory compliance, and quality system management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities with urgency and program management skills.
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and process capability studies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and Slack.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time to co-manufacturing partner locations.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Product Quality and Field Quality team.
- Manage food safety and quality risks, gaps, and opportunities for new and current products, processes, and systems.
- Manage and deploy Quality Assurance programs across co-manufacturing partners and functional areas.
- Oversee and improve quality aspects of product launches by supporting the commercialization process.
- Lead investigations of in-plant, distribution, and consumer quality incidents, identifying root causes and facilitating corrective actions.
- Facilitate and drive implementation of Quality Management Systems, including documentation, supplier approval, and internal/external audit requirements.
- Define, track, and report Quality Key Performance Indicators to drive continuous improvement.
