Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public service administration, psychology, social work, education, health, business administration or related human service field.
- Three years of experience in human services or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- High level of diplomacy and discretion for negotiation and issue resolution.
- Exceptional interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Ability to make prompt, independent decisions based on relevant facts.
- Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Demonstrated leadership presence with confidence in managing complex issues.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to local political issues.
- Knowledge of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse service systems and evidence-based practices.
- Willingness to become proficient in all disability areas including co-occurring illnesses.
- Ability to travel to Vaya Partners offices as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain collaborations with local agencies, community stakeholders, and political units.
- Identify system barriers and develop local solutions to address health disparities.
- Represent the company on community boards and agency committees.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns from stakeholders and community agencies.
- Educate community agencies about MCO functions, resources, and provider capacity.
- Represent the needs and issues of assigned counties to the Vaya Leadership team.
- Provide regional input into state plans, initiatives, and projects.
