Requirements
- Significant experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and dbt, including advanced modeling, incremental processing, testing, and documentation.
- Deep knowledge of dimensional modeling (e.g., Kimball or star schema) in complex B2B SaaS environments.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Ability to establish semantic layer strategies and trusted metric definitions.
- Ability to translate business priorities into a data platform roadmap.
- Effective communication skills with senior stakeholders.
- Experience with CI/CD, orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect) is preferred.
- Experience with AI-assisted analytics engineering workflows is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own the vision, roadmap, and execution for analytics engineering, including core data models, semantic layers, BI tooling, and pipeline infrastructure.
- Hire, manage, and develop analytics engineers by establishing career ladders, leveling expectations, and performance practices.
- Set standards for data modeling, testing, documentation, code review, deployment, and data quality.
- Review complex dbt models, optimize SQL, and troubleshoot high-priority pipeline issues.
- Partner with leaders across Data Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Product, and GTM teams to define the data roadmap.
- Build governed, reliable data foundations that support company-wide decision-making, AI initiatives, and Generative BI.
